Windows installation and SSD upgrade – Lenovo PC

IT intervention carried out for the configuration and optimisation of a Lenovo system, which included the physical installation of an SSD, the installation of Windows 10 64-bit and the full system configuration to run in UEFI/GPT mode.

💾 SSD Installation and Configuration

• Physical installation of the SSD into the system;
• Verification of SSD detection in BIOS/UEFI;
• Checking of storage drives and partitions;
• Configuring the system to use the SSD;
• Preparing the SSD for the operating system installation;
• Checking the boot order and UEFI mode.

🖥️ Windows Installation and Configuration

Windows 10 64-bit was actually installed on the system, using the bootable USB medium.

The following were carried out:

• configuring the boot in UEFI mode;
• checking the GPT partitioning;
• selecting the storage drive for the system installation;
• installing Windows;
• initial system configuration;
• checking the operation after installation.

During the preparation of the installation medium, Rufus flagged an issue regarding a revoked UEFI bootloader, which was checked and analysed before proceeding with the procedure.

🔑 Yahoo Account Recovery Assistance

Technical assistance was provided for a login/recovery issue with a Yahoo account.

The available recovery methods and the issue regarding receiving verification codes were checked. The actual recovery of the account depends on Yahoo's verification and validation mechanisms and cannot be guaranteed by the technician.

🔌 Bootable USB Stick

A bootable USB stick for Windows installation was created, used during the intervention.

At the client's request, the bootable USB stick remained with them after the intervention was completed.

✅ Intervention Outcome

The Lenovo system was configured with the SSD installed and Windows 10 64-bit installed, with the necessary settings for UEFI/GPT boot checked.

Checks regarding storage, partitions and system startup were carried out, and the issue related to Yahoo account recovery was analysed and the client received assistance for the recovery procedure.
